Can you describe the experience of being manipulated?

Guilt and pity! If you're feeling that towards another and are confused as to why, you're lileky being manipulated.
Don't get me wrong, guilt and pity are legitimate emotions. Feeling them for authentic reasons usually leads to an awareness of something we have done or can do but haven't. We will likely feel rage first, in an attempt to deny it, if we are feeling guilty. That's a defense of something we should own.
If you aren't struggling with your thoughts, actions and/or behaviors and still feel guilt or pity, that's a sign you are being manipulated. This is why it's so important to know yourself and surround yourself with gentle, kind, mirrors. It's important to both hold our own shit AND deny responsibility for owning another's.
I could write story after story to illuminate how manipulators manipulate but the reality is, getting wrapped up in drama triangles, while familiar and oddly comfortable, is not a healthy place to be. I hope this helps!
Be what you want to see! With love, Keya Diné
